Medieval Fantasy house update

So that was a bit of a trial painting and I would appreciate some feedback on it. I’m not fishing for compliments, I’m planning on selling those eventually so I would like to know what people objectively think of it. Now please bear in mind that this is not a GD entry (or Crystal Brush following the trend) and I don’t have time to blend each tile individually. I was trying to achieve a good solid tabletop standard, fairytale like (hence the bright colours) as this is rather more fantasy medieval than realistic medieval. I do apologize again for the not so great pictures but I think you should still be able to judge the painting.

As far as the building goes, I’m not going to change much, just the thickness of windows. Regarding the painting, I will base coat it in black to avoid the silly white dots under the tiles. I think I’ll drop the gold on the windows, maybe a couple of more highlights on the walls and tiles but that’s pretty much it. The wood looks dull on the pictures but it’s actually quite alright in the “flesh”.

  1. As it is...it looks great. The only one thing that doesn´t 100% work is the door and window frames. Stonework surrounds in a timberframed house...good for a fantasy medieval set up but not for a purely medieval one.
    Cheers

  2. not to sold on the windows and door but the house looks great, maybe as far as the paint work maybe a bit of shade on the walls look a little to uniform ATM
