Empire Master Engineer + Fenland Well

A few commissions I have been working on lately, all tabletop. The engineer from Games Workshop was a great pleasure to paint and the best thing about it was that it is a plastic cast. Really quickly put together, I sort of tried to copy the studio paint. I also did one of my well for a customer; they’ve been my most popular item so far I’ve to say. I think the price is quite right for it which would explain it.

Quelques commandes sur lesquelles j’ai travaillé récemment, niveau tabletop. L’ingénieur de chez GW fut très sympa à peindre et particulièrement agréable à monter vu qu’il était en plastic ! J’ai essayé de garder les couleurs du studio un peu. J’ai aussi fais un de mes puits pour un client, je crois que c’est mon kit le plus populaire pour l’instant.

Bref, un peu plus des « Demeures de l’épouvante » à suivre…

On the bench…

I thought I’d update quickly about what I’m currently painting. I’m painting the tower from the previous post for the contest on Wamp but I’ve also been working on a couple of other things. I finished a commission, somebody who wanted a painted “Fenland Well”. It does look a lot like the previous one on the add but the tints are actually a bit darker, especially on the rocks. I think it works well with the wet effect and gives it a good “old damp” feel, not sure I’m making any sense here^^. Anyway, if anybody is interested I’m charging £30.00 for the painted version + shipping costs.

I’ve also been working on my current favourite minis. They are from Soda Pop Miniatures, specifically from the Super Dungeon Explore Board game. I’m hoping to have a couple finished before the week end so that’ll be the next update.



Un petit post juste histoire de mentionner ce que je suis en train de peindre. Dans le post précédent, je parlais de la tour que je vais présenter au concours sur Wamp mais je suis aussi en train de peindre 2-3 bricoles à coté. J’ai fini une commande, un client qui voulait une version peinte du « puits des terres marécageuses ». Il ressemble beaucoup à celui sur la photo de l’annonce mais les teintes sont plus sombres, surtout sur la pierre. Je trouve que ca va bien avec l’effet mouillé par endroit et lui donne un cote vieilli/humide qui passe bien. Bref, si quelqu’un est intéressé, la version peinte est à £30.00 + les frais de port.

Je suis aussi entrain de travailler sur mes figurines préférées du moment. Il s’agit des minis de la boite du jeu Super Dungeon Explore de chez Soda Pop Miniatures. J’espère en terminer 1 ou 2 d’ici le weekend.

The Fenland Well

The Fenland Well kit is finally available for purchase from the Blog or Ebay. The pictures speak for themselves really. It is 14cm high with a base diameter of 10cm; you can have a look at the picture with the miniature from Hasslefree to get a better idea of the scale. The kit weigh 160g and is cast in light grey resin, you can also see what you’re getting on the last picture. A bit of assembling is required but nothing complicated really!

It’s suitable for your 25-30mm gaming and could fit in different genre such as medieval, fantasy or oriental. It’s supplied unpainted although a painted version as you can see on the picture is available on order (contact me if interested ).

The price is £9.99 + £3.00 (worldwide shipping), that’s around 10€ or $20.00 + shipping.

Le « puits des terres marécageuses » est enfin disponible à l’achat à partir du blog ou d’EBay. Les photos valent mieux qu’un long discours toutefois voila quelques infos techniques .II fait 14cm de haut, jetez un œil à la photo avec la figurine de Hasslefree pour une meilleure idée de l’échelle. Le kit pèse 160g et est tiré dans une résine gris clair, la dernière photo vous montre ce qu’il y aura dans la boite. Un peu d’assemblage sera nécessaire mais rien de compliqué.

The Fenland Well WIP

Here’s a sneaky preview at the well. It’s not assembled yet hence blue tack and wonkiness at the pillars level but that’s how it’ll generally look. I changed the name to “Fenland Well” which I prefer. It still needs a bit of tweaking, filing and polishing but is pretty much done. I did some railings to sit inside the well (health and safety) which are not there as I did them on a board and are ready to be cast. Not too sure how they’ll turn out.

Anyway, I’ll start making moulds on Monday and try to get a painted version done by the end of the week. It will hopefully be available for sale by the end of the month as I’ll need to work out a few other details.



Une petit avant-première du puits…Il n’est pas assemblé pour l’instant d’où le « tack » (dsl je me rappelle plus le nom de cette pate collante bleue) et l’aspect tour de Pise au niveau des piliers. J’ai aussi changé le nom en « The Fenland Well », je préfère (« Fenland » est une région marécageuse dans le nord de l’Angleterre). Il reste encore un petit peu de boulot dessus mais c’est presque fini. J’ai aussi fait une grille qui sera fixée à l’intérieur du puits.

J’espère commencer à faire les moules lundi et peut être avoir une version peinte d’ici la fin de la semaine. Avec un peu de chance, le modèle sera disponible à la vente d’ici la fin du mois, une fois les petits détails réglés.

Sancreed Holy Well

I said I’d update this week end so there it is. I’ve been doing lots of different bits which are not particularly fascinating such as prepping, painting old bits of scenery for selling but also started to work on my next piece of scenery.

It should be called “Sancreed Holy Well ” and is basically a medieval old well with a tiled roof. I’m planning to sell this one as a kit so I have to think about how I’m going to cast this. So far, you can see on the picture what will be the base and the bit that’ll be supporting the roof.

Still lots to do…



Bon, j’avais dis que je ferais un petit post ce weekend alors le voila^^. J’ai bossé sur pas mal de trucs différents, pas particulièrement super intéressants mais aussi sur ma prochaine pièce de terrain.
Cela s’appellera « Sancreed Holy Well » (comprendre le puits saint de Sancreed), en gros un vieux puits de style médiéval avec un mini toit. J’ai l’intention d’en faire un kit à vendre donc je dois bien réfléchir à comment je vais faire pour les moules et le tirage. Pas grand-chose à voir pour l’instant, juste la base du puits et la partie qui supportera le toit.
Reste beaucoup à faire…
