R'lyeh Rising

R'lyeh Rising expansion "miniature" from CMON. Easily the largest model I've ever done. I was dreading painting it as I've had mixed experiences before with huge minis but that was actually quite a positive experience. Model is very nicely textured and very enjoyable to paint. Pictures don't really convey how massive the thing is, not your typical expansion for a board game :) He is now flying over the channel to be reunited with owner.

Rising Sun

Rising Sun...Complete Kickstarter pledge...That was a long one. Epic commission, had to follow original Artwork from Adrian Smith. This has to be my favourite theme in anything. I'd say 80% of the models are outstanding which is a feat considering there is over 150 ones. Did a quick video + pictures. Wacky races from CMON

I was really looking forward to paint these but it turned out to be a massive disappointment. Models are not the worst, just very average board game quality. It took me ages to complete as I couldn't find motivation for it, you're all probably familiar with that feeling...the project that needs to get done but can't be asked...Overall, a pretty poor paint job, can't find motivation to even try the game...I will eventually...

Blood rage Raven Clan + Frost Giant

That's all 4 clans done, so I can move into the extras of this box. Still got a few monsters and all the Kickstarter extras. I'll do a family shot eventually.

Rivet War, green team !

January has been a complicated month for painting models as I've been stuck at home with major works going on in the house. I'm still working on some Rivet Wars and other bits. I finished the machines for the “green side”, don't think that's it's their actual name :).

I'm making good progress on the blue one too. There were some good models in there, very fun.

Le mois de Janvier a été complique pour la peinture de figurines. J'ai plein de travaux a la maison, c'est très envahissant. Je travaille toujours sur du Rivet War et d'autres trucs en vrac. J'ai fin les verts quoique que je ne crois pas que ce soit leur vrai nom :).
J'ai aussi bien progresse sur les bleus. Il y a de belles figurines dans le lot, très fun.  

Blood rage: The Serpent Clan + Mystic Troll

I'm really trying to get this game finished as quickly as possible but I'm busy with other painting projects too. Overall, it's a great group of Nordic beauties and handsome troll. I could have spent more time on it but decided to move on. More to follow on that box soon hopefully….

Je suis super impatient de finir cette boite mais j'ai trop de trucs sur le bureau en ce moment. En tout cas, c'est un très beau groupe de poupées Nordiques et un joli troll. Je fais le clan des ours après...  

Blood Rage Wolf Clan + Mountain Giant

I wish I had so much more time to paint and was able to focus on these models, unfortunately they’re a bit on the back burner. Models are pretty good considering the amount of them in the box. The large creatures are definitly the best ones. Giants, trolls and wolf are amazing, so excited to paint them. The whole package, game, artwork, models is truly outstanding.

A lot more to come…

J’aimerais tellement avoir plus de temps pour peindre ces figurines malheureusement ce n'est pas possible. Les figurines sont vraiment bien pour un jeu de plateau, les grosses créatures en particulier. Je suis super impatient d'attaquer le reste...quand je pourrais. L'ensemble, illustrations, jeu et figurines, est fantastique.  

Arcadia Quest: Monsters

That’s the whole lot from the base game, well the monsters at least. I’m making a quick move on them as the pile of stuff to paint is crazy high. I absolutely love these models, so much better than the Super Dungeon Explore stuff. They’re a bit bigger and NO assembly. For the first time in ages I’ve not changed the bases. A bit of a shame as those bases warp a bit but time is of the essence. I’m on to the heroes now.

Ce sont tous les monstres de la boîte de base. J’essaie d’avancer rapidement car la pile de figs à peindre est ENORME ! J’adore ces figurines, tellememnt mieux que celles de Super Dungeon Explore. Elles sont un peu plus grosses et pas d’assemblage nécessaire. Pour la première fois depuis longtemps, je n’ai pas changé les socles. Un peu dommage car ils sont mauvais et gondolent méchamment mais je n'ai pas le temps de faire plus. J’ai attaqué les héros.

Arcadia Quest (2)

A super quick post as this is about a few very basic models. On top of that, I’ve had little hobby time due to holidays and kids. Always a pleasure to do some orks but I’m trying to be quick here so no playing around. This box doesn’t have too many models so I should be able to complete it one day but commissions are piling up.

Un petit post tout rapide, les vacances, les enfants, je n'ai pas eu trop de temps pour peindre. C’est toujours un plaisir de faire des orques mais là je fais vite. La boîte ne contient pas tant de figurines que ça donc ça devrait aller vite mais les commandes s’empilent.

Cang the Implacable

This is the biggest piece I’ve ever done. The model from CMON is quite incredible. The positives: stunning looking piece, the pose and scenery are brilliant, fantastic details, gorgeous dragon face. I can only think of a couple of negatives: it required lots of putty work as it didn’t fit well and the sculpting of the scales is a bit disappointing on the body parts.

The painting was really hard, done most of it on my knees which was tiring. I followed the original artwork which was a bit conservative on my part as I didn’t want to mess it. It was great to paint but I didn’t really enjoy it this time, it’s so big I found it difficult. Even taking pictures was hard so I just took photos on the dining table.

Anyway, I think I ticked the dragon box for the Blog.

Je crois que c’est la plus grosse pièce que je n'ai jamais eu à faire. La figurine de chez CMON est fantastique. Les points positifs : pièce de toute beauté, la pose et les décors sont excellents, je n’ai jamais vue une meilleure tete de dragon. Il y a aussi quelques points négatifs : beaucoup de travail de preparation car les différentes pièces ne se sont pas très bien assemblées, la sculpture des écailles sur le corps qui ne sont pas très intéressantes.

La peinture fut délicate, j’ai passé la plupart du temps sur mes genoux, ce qui est crevant. J’ai suivi la peinture originale car je ne voulais pas me planter. Ce fut une sacr ée expérience de peindre ça mais pour etre honnête je n’ai pas aimé, j’ai trouvé ça très difficile. Même prendre des photos fut un peu galère, j’ai pris l’option table du salon ..

Bref, je crois que j’ai couvert le tag dragon pour le blog.

Arcadia Quest (1)

These are some models I’ve been working on when I have a few spare minutes from commissioned work. The models are really excellent but you have to love that style. They’re fully assembled which is an improvement from Super Dungeon Explore. They’re also a tiny bit bigger which makes painting easier. I’m not really taking my time with those, trying to get it done quickly as I’ve got a few other Board games to do.

Je travaille sur ces figurines entre 2 commandes. Les figurines sont vraiment excellentes et bien mieux à mon avis que celles de Super Dungeon Explore. Elles sont un tout petit peu plus grosses et déjà assemblés. Je ne prends pas vraiment mon temps avec, je ne bâcle pas mais bon faut que ça avance rapidement.
