Clay tile roofing

This is a project I’ve had on the back of my head for a while now. If I look back at all the buildings I’ve ever done, I’ve always used cardboards for making tiles. It’s working great but I’m getting bored of it. What I had in mind was doing some of those round shaped looking clay tiles. There are lots of tutorials around using corrugated board or other techniques like that. Hirst Arts also have a mould to cast them but about £25.

So I thought I’d do my own mould. As you can see on the picture I used some StripStyrene from Ever green. I’ve finished it with green stuff. It actually was quite a hassle to craft, a lot more than what it looks. I made a couple of moulds from it. I’ve cast the pieces in plaster which is great for these items as it’s very easy to weather/dent them.

Anyway, I’ll use them shortly.

J'ai me suis donc décidé à faire mon propre moule.
