The Fenland Well WIP

Here’s a sneaky preview at the well. It’s not assembled yet hence blue tack and wonkiness at the pillars level but that’s how it’ll generally look. I changed the name to “Fenland Well” which I prefer. It still needs a bit of tweaking, filing and polishing but is pretty much done. I did some railings to sit inside the well (health and safety) which are not there as I did them on a board and are ready to be cast. Not too sure how they’ll turn out.

Anyway, I’ll start making moulds on Monday and try to get a painted version done by the end of the week. It will hopefully be available for sale by the end of the month as I’ll need to work out a few other details.



Une petit avant-première du puits…Il n’est pas assemblé pour l’instant d’où le « tack » (dsl je me rappelle plus le nom de cette pate collante bleue) et l’aspect tour de Pise au niveau des piliers. J’ai aussi changé le nom en « The Fenland Well », je préfère (« Fenland » est une région marécageuse dans le nord de l’Angleterre). Il reste encore un petit peu de boulot dessus mais c’est presque fini. J’ai aussi fait une grille qui sera fixée à l’intérieur du puits.

J’espère commencer à faire les moules lundi et peut être avoir une version peinte d’ici la fin de la semaine. Avec un peu de chance, le modèle sera disponible à la vente d’ici la fin du mois, une fois les petits détails réglés.

Paint Log Update

I’m really not in the painting groove at the moment but I thought I’d use the Hasslefree Competition over at WAMP to paint the blood bowl team I got at Salute. Deadline is 28th of august which might be tight but I’m planning to do a table top job so we’ll see.

I decided to not keep the goblin from the pack as I don’t feel it really belongs. I replaced him with Captain Kev, a tiny smaller in scale but never mind. I’ve also kept the cheerleader but I don’t know if it’ll enter the group for the competition. The prepped minis base coated in white are the ones from the set.

The second picture is the one with the minis needing conversion. From the left, Valaska Syn (I’ve added trainers and I’m replacing her weapon by a ball, quite a tricky one), Shimmer (same as Valaska, replacing the weapon) and Kalee (just getting rid of the weapon, had to re-do the hand).

I’ll see if I add Football gear later.



Pas vraiment le mojo pour la peinture en ce moment mais je me suis dis que la compétition Hasslefree sur WAMP était une bonne occasion de peindre l’équipe de Blood Bowl que j’avais a achetée à Salute. Il faut avoir fini pour le 28 aout ce qui va être tendu mais je vais faire une peinture « Table Top » donc on verra…

J’ai décidé de ne pas garder le gobelin fournit dans la boite, je l’ai remplace par Captain Kev, un petit plus petit que les autres mais tant pis. J’ai gardé le cheerleader pour l’instant mais je ne pense pas qu’elle fera partie de la photo de groupe à la fin. Les figurines avec la sous couche blanche sont donc celles d’origine + Kev.
Sur la deuxième photo, les figurines qu’il va falloir convertir. En partant de la gauche, Valaska Syn (j’ai rajouté des baskets et vais remplacer l’arme par un ballon, conversion assez difficile celle-là), Shimmer (arme changée) et Kalee (je me suis débarrassé de l’arme et ai du refaire la main). Je verrais plu tard si je rajoute des pièces d’équipement Football.

The Broccoli Tree

I’m right in the middle of doing lots of scenery stuff at the moment so this picture made me giggled. Not too sure if I’ll keep the idea for my boards though…Sorry, couldn’t come up with any pun that included broccolis and models.


Je suis en train de faire plein de pièces de terrain donc ca m’a fait marrer cette photo. Pas sur que j’exploiterais cette idée pour ma table par contre…Désolé, j’ai cherché un moment mais je ne suis pas arrivé à trouver une blague pourrie avec brocoli et les figurines.

Sancreed Holy Well

I said I’d update this week end so there it is. I’ve been doing lots of different bits which are not particularly fascinating such as prepping, painting old bits of scenery for selling but also started to work on my next piece of scenery.

It should be called “Sancreed Holy Well ” and is basically a medieval old well with a tiled roof. I’m planning to sell this one as a kit so I have to think about how I’m going to cast this. So far, you can see on the picture what will be the base and the bit that’ll be supporting the roof.

Still lots to do…



Bon, j’avais dis que je ferais un petit post ce weekend alors le voila^^. J’ai bossé sur pas mal de trucs différents, pas particulièrement super intéressants mais aussi sur ma prochaine pièce de terrain.
Cela s’appellera « Sancreed Holy Well » (comprendre le puits saint de Sancreed), en gros un vieux puits de style médiéval avec un mini toit. J’ai l’intention d’en faire un kit à vendre donc je dois bien réfléchir à comment je vais faire pour les moules et le tirage. Pas grand-chose à voir pour l’instant, juste la base du puits et la partie qui supportera le toit.
Reste beaucoup à faire…

I’m not spending all of my time surfing the internet by the way. I’ll update on what I’ve been up to this week end.

Choi Xooang

Slightly nighmarish and shocking, I find these polymer clay figures quite extraordinary. Be warned it’s quite graphic and there is a fair amount of nudity (the things you have to do to increase your hit numbers!).

Choi Xooang is a Seoul based artist.His work is quite hyper-realistic although it’s sometimes exagerated and very personnal. It’s also an attempt to draw attention to human rights abuses in Korea hence the macabre figures unable to see or speak.

I found it difficult to gather his work online so you’ll have to Google him and look for it yourself if you want to see more. I’m just showing my favourites.


Cauchemardesques et choquantes, je trouve ces sculptures extraordinaires. C’est assez graphique et il y a pas mal de nudité (vous êtes prévenus !).

Choi Xooang est un artiste Coréen. Son travail est hyper-réaliste quoique parfois exagéré et très personnel.C’est aussi une tentative d’attirer l’attention sur les abus des droits de l’homme en Corée d’où les personnages qui ne peuvent pas parler ou voir.

J’ai trouvé assez peu d’informations sur l’artiste de Seoul donc si vous voulez en savoir plus, il va falloir faire vos recherches vous-même.

So, I’m officially a True Neutral Human Sorcerer (2nd Level)



Alignment:

A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbours and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:

Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:

Sorcerers are arcane spell casters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Je ne vais pas tout traduire car c’est bien trop long. Il s’agit d’un de ces tests de personnalité pour trouver quel type de personnage vous seriez dans un jeu de rôle comme Donjons & Dragons. Le test est assez long et tout en Anglais. Les résultats pour moi : Sorcier Humain Neutre Indécis (alignement qui tue^^bon au moins ce n’est pas chaotique mauvais).
