Loratham

That’s the best model I’ve painted in a while. It’s a mini from Enigma in the 32mm scale cast in metal. I’ve always loved barbarians but this one is quite spectacular in my opinion. The details on this model are really excellent and super sharp. The pose, facial expression, textures of clothing…all of it really good. My appreciation of it has probably been helped by the fact that I had just painted lots of board games stuff which wasn’t of the greatest quality. So that felt great to paint…

C’est probablement la plus belle figurine que j’ai peinte récemment. Il s’agit d’une figurine de chez Enigma à l’échelle 32 et tirée en métal. J’ai toujours adoré les barbares mais celui-ci est vraiment spectaculaire à mon avis. Les détails sont vraiment excellents et super définis. La pause, expression du visage, la texture des tissus…tout est vraiment très bon. Bon, mon appréciation a peut être était influencée par le fait que je viens de peindre beaucoup de figurines pour jeux de société qui n’étaient pas de la meilleure qualité. Alors, oui, ca fut un plaisir à peindre…

Kemet

It’s been a while, previous update is a month old which is not normal as I usually update weekly. I’ve been on holiday for a few of those days and then busy painting this project. As it’s something I’m doing for myself, it took ages. Those models are part of the Kemet boardgame. Feel free to check it out on BGG as it’s a really good game.

There’s a lot of plastic in the box. I painted the 5 sets for the five players including the tokens. The “army” models are in a 15mm scale which is nightmare stuff. They were of very average quality too. This is the last time I paint something like this for me as it’s really no fun, no details and super tiny.

The creatures models were much better and more fun, they’re the 7 ones on the first picture. They’re in a more classic 28mm scale and were of decent quality for a board game.

Altogether it was pretty long and felt like painting an army for wargaming. I hope this will make me enjoy the game even more…

Next up a model from Enigma…YEAH!!! That’s more like it!!!

Ma dernière mise à jour remontait à plus d’un mois donc il était temps que je publie quelque chose! J’ai passé pas mal de ce temps en vacances mais aussi à  travailler sur ce projet. Vu que c’est quelque chose que j’ai fais pour moi, ca ma pris du temps. Ce sont les figurines du jeu de plateau Kemet. Je vous invite à aller y jeter un œil car c’est un grand jeu.

Il y a beaucoup de plastic dans la boite (5 sets pour chaque joueur). Les modèles « armée » sont à l’échelle 15mm qui est un vrai calvaire surtout avec des tirages de mauvaise qualité en plastic. Pas très fun à peindre, manque de détails et super petits. Je ne ferais plus jamais rien à cette échelle, pour moi tout du moins.

Les créatures étaient beaucoup plus sympas. Elles sont dans une genre de 28mm plus classique et de qualité décente, surtout pour un jeu de plateau.

Dans l’ensemble, ca a été long et m’a donne l’impression de peindre une armée pour faire du Wargame. J’espère qu’au moins cela me fera apprécier le jeu encore plus.

A suivre une figurine de chez Enigma…Yeahh !!!! Je préfère !!!

Colossal Squig

Here’s the final piece of a series of Goblins/Orcs on squigs. And it’s the biggest one…seriously big. It’s sitting on a GW monster base and barely fitting in. I was asked to add a rider which seemed like an obvious conversion for that model. After a lot of research, we decided to use a model from Wyrd Miniatures called Hells Angels. It’s not a Goblin but I think it works very well with the squig.

The squig was quite easy to build however there were some massive gaps around the legs, therefore quite a lot of putty work. The rider also required a bit of work as it came in about 5pieces and is super tiny. In the end, it was quite a great model to paint and I also enjoyed making the base too. I must add though that having such a heavy resin piece that’s only touching the floor with one foot added to the difficulty.

Voila la pièce finale de cette série de Goblins/Orques avec Squigs. Et c’est aussi la plus grosse…sérieusement énorme. Elle se tient sur un socle de monstre GW et le remplit totalement. Il m’a été demandé de rajouter un cavalier,  ce qui semblait une conversion logique pour ce modèle. Apres pas mal de recherche, nous avons décidé d’utiliser un « Hells Angels » de chez Wyrd. Ce n’est pas un Goblinoide mais je trouve que la figurine a la classe sur le Squig.

Le Squig en question fut relativement facile à monter malgré de gros écarts autour des joints des jambes, ce qui impliqua pas mal de re-sculptage. Le petit démon aussi nécessita pas mal de boulot vu qu’il était en 5 pièces. A l’arrivée, un gros plaisir à peindre cette pièce et je me suis aussi bien régalé sur le socle. Je dois tout de même rajouter que le fait que la figurine ne touche le sol que sur un pied fut un peu galère, surtout vu le poids de la pièce.

Chaos Warrior

This is a really nice metal model from Games Workshop that I just did for a family member birthday. I said metal as it seems to be an increasingly rare thing. It’s from around 2000 and is nicely detailed without being over-detailed like some of their recent stuff. It was quite enjoyable to paint and took around 3 hours. I pretty much painted it in a go which is rare for me. Pictures aren’t great again; I’m really going to have to do something about this.

C’est une figurine en métal de chez Games Workshop que je viens de finir pour l’anniversaire d’un membre de ma famille (éloignée). J’ai précisé en métal car ca devient de plus en plus rare. La pièce date des du début des années 2000 et est joliment détaillée sans être trop chargée comme beaucoup de leur pièces maintenant. Ca m’a pris à peu prés 3 heures et a été assez agréable à peindre dans le frais. Les photos ne sont pas top encore, va falloir que je fasse quelque chose…

Night Goblin Squig Gobba

I already did a post on this model so that’s just going to be a quick one to show the pictures of the finished product. A bit gutted with the poor quality of pictures but that’ll have to do. It doesn’t really show the work on the skin of the Gobba but never mind. Here’s the link on Forgeworld website, I highly recommend it.

J’ai déjà présenté ce kit donc c’est juste un petit mot rapide pour montrer les photos. Un peu déçu par les photos mais je n’ai vraiment pas le temps de m’attarder là-dessus. On ne voit pas bien le travail sur la peu du Gobba, dommage…Le lien est plus haut, je recommande vivement cette pièce.

Chaos in The Old World

The models belong to the highly rated “Chaos in the Old World” board game. It’s not a new release by any mean but a game I just got a couple of months ago. People who are familiar with Warhammer will recognize the main characters…Nurgle, Slanesh etc...This has got to be some of the worst models I’ve ever painted and I had to dig dip to keep going. I nearly gave half way through but I really wanted to play it so I kept going. The “Heroes” are actually ok but the 40 odd basic units were pretty horrendous: terrible mould lines, warped, casted in soft crap plastic, all of that in a 15mm type scale. 

Anyway, I did manage to finish and did a quickest job that I initially wanted. The mass effect is actually not too bad and I’m sure they’ll look decent on the board.

Ces figurines font parties du jeu “Chaos Dans Le Vieux Monde”. Ce n’est pas du tout une nouveauté mais je me suis procuré le jeu il n’y  a pas longtemps. Ceux qui connaissent Warhammer reconnaitront les personnages principaux…Nurgle, Slanesh etc… Je crois que ce sont les plus mauvaises figurines qu’il m’ait été donné de peindre et ca a été dur de rester motive pour finir. L’idée de prendre du plaisir au jeu a été la carotte…Les grosses figurines ne sont pas trop mal mais les unités de base sont immondes : lignes de moulage, pliés, plastic mou…le tout à l’échelle 15mm. 

Bref, hourra, c’est fini. L’effet de masse est pas trop mal et je pense que ca ira bien sur le plateau.

Night Goblin Command Set

A quick post as I’ve just finished the last piece. I thought I’ll do a group picture of the set, so this is basically what you get in the blister. The last piece was the shaman which is a bit of an unusual model. Overall I think it’s a pretty good deal and the models are quite excellent.

La dernière pièce était le shaman qui est dans une position un peu inhabituelle. Dans l’ensemble, je trouve le set excellent et les figurines de tes grande qualité.
