Ox Wagon from Perry Miniatures

As far as I can recall, this is the first models from Perry I ever had to do.  I would love to get their Japanese/Korean stuff but it’s far down my priorities list right now.

I thought this was quite an unusual kit. It came in many pieces both resin and metal. The resin bit was the stuff on the wagon and was much sharper in quality than the rest. The characters are good but nothing special. It comes with a woman holding a baby and a third character who is a child. The customer did not want those painted so if you want to see them here’s the link on their website. The really annoying thing for me was that it didn’t come with a base. It’s a pretty long kit and I had nothing in my boxes that fit so I had to cut some PVC, not ideal.

Anyway, overall a good piece for the price and it was enjoyable to paint.

Je crois qu’il s’agit bien de la première pièce de chez Perry que j’ai eu à faire. J’adorerais collectionner leur gamme Japonaise et Coréenne mais je n’ai juste pas le temps de m’occuper de ca en ce moment.

Je trouve que c’est un kit assez étrange. Il est en beaucoup de morceaux et un mix de résine et de métal. La pièce en résine était excellente (c’est la pièce centrale du chariot) et était bien plus précise que les autres parties. Les personnages sont bons mais sans plus. Le kit est aussi fourni avec une femme qui tient un bébé dans ses bras et un troisième personnage qui est un enfant. Le client ne les voulait pas peint donc voici le lien sur le site de Perry si vous voulez les voir. Très énervant aussi le fait que tout ca vient sans socle. Vu la longueur du chariot je n’avais rien mes boites qui allait et j’ai du découper du plastic PVC, ce qui n’est pas top.

Dans l’ensemble, ca reste une belle pièce pour le prix et fut agréable à peindre.

Chaos Warshrine conversion WIP

I don’t usually have time to do stuff like that for me so it’s nice to be asked to it. The idea for this actually started with the crocodile model from Mierce Miniatures. We were looking to add a ride to the beast and got inspired from a picture on CMON where somebody added a lizard men shrine.

The crocodile was quite easy to put together and is massive, I I took a shot with a 28mm model to give you an idea. Again with Mierce Miniatures, it came with the worst resin base you could think of so I’ll have to change this. I haven’t connected the shrine to the beast yet but it should be too hard, I’ll probably add chains.

The shrine kit itself from GW is really good. I mean really good…It’s nice to work with some plastic as it’s much easier to cut and is perfect for that kind of projects. Also, lots of options, different heads, weapons, etc…The pictures show how I broke it down for painting but I might fit the base of the shrine on the crocodile first.

Really looking forward to paint this one.

Je n’ai jamais le temps de faire ce genre de travail pour moi donc c’est sympa qu’on me demande de le faire. L’idée est venue au départ  de la figurine du crocodile de chez Mierce Minaitures. On voulait ajouter une monture et l’inspiration est venue d’une photo sur CMON ou quelqu’un avait ajouté un autel d’hommes lézard.

Le crocodile était assez facile a assembler et est énorme, d’où la photo avec le prêtre en 28mm. Une fois de plus avec Mierce Minaitures, un socle de merde en résine qu’il va falloir refaire. Je n’ai pas encore attaché l’autel a la bête mais ca devrait se faire sans problème.

L’autel de guerre du chaos de chez GW est un excellent kit, vraiment excellent. C’est très agréable de travailler avec du plastic sur ce genre de projets. Aussi plein d’options de tètes, armes, décors…

Les photos montrent comment j’ai séparé  l’ensemble pour la peinture pour l’instant mais je vais attacher l’autel au croco je pense avant d’attaquer la peinture.

Impatient d’attaquer celui-ci !

Room 25 (2)

Here’s another version of the miniatures for the Room 25 game. It’s one up for from the previous set I’ve already done. I changed the bases because the original ones are just plain weird. I still followed the artwork for the choice of colours. If you haven’t checked this game I can only recommend it, it’s an excellent game. And there is some good news as Matagot announced a season 2 with upgraded models. It’s true that these miniatures are not very well detailed and could do with something a bit sexier.

Voice une nouvelle version des figurines du jeu Room 25. C’est une amélioration par rapport au set que je me suis fait. J’ai changé les socles car ceux d’origine ne sont pas jolis du tout. J’ai suivi les illustrations pour le choix des couleurs. Si vous ne connaissez pas ce jeu, je ne peux que vous  incitez à aller y jeter un œil, c’est un jeu excellent. Et il y a de bonnes nouvelles avec Matagot qui vient d’annoncer qu’ils vont produire une saison 2 du jeu avec des figurines plus détaillées…que demander de plus…

Kahn-Urkan from Raging Heroes

Another model from Raging heroes and an interesting one it is. Again the model comes in 2 sizes (28mm and 54mm) with different types of wings. Here’s the link on for their website as it shows everything you can do/have. I had to do the 28mm version with the wings of thorns. Figurine was in metal with a fair amount of bits and choices regarding head, shoulders and weapons. It’s quite tall with these thorny wings and very imposing for a 28mm mini. Not a lot to add, I enjoyed painting it as it’s nicely detailed. Another unusual model from them.

Une autre figurine de chez Raging Heroes et une pièce intéressante une fois de plus. La figurine est disponible en 2 tailles (28mm et 54mm) avec différentes versions pour les ailes. Celle que je présente est la version en 28mm et les ailes d’épines. Voici le lien sur leur site web qui montre tous els options et il y en a. La figurine était en métal et avec beaucoup de choix pour la tête, armes, épaulières. Le tout est très imposant avec ses grandes ailes pour une mini en 28mm. Pas grand-chose a rajouter si ce n’est que je me suis régalé car c’est une belle mini très détaillé. 

The Obligatory Zombie Painting (4)

A super quick post to prove that I'm making some progress on my Zombie painting. Again, it's a mixed bag of various zombie games and extensions with 1 conversion (the fattie). These are a actually the last zombies I painted as I've got a lot of gaming stuff to paint for other people. But there will be more, don't worry^^.

Traduction rapide de ce post méga-rapide…Voici les derniers zombies que j’ai peint, je suis très occupé avec  5-6 autres commandes donc je vais les garder au chaud pendant quelques semaines, le temps que j’élague ces boites…

Flint-Fang

It must have been the late 80’s last time I painted Skavens. At the time I was collecting every single Warhammer army or it felt like it and didn’t have any complete playable set. Things are different now, with my focus very much on Board games. It was great to have to do this piece though.

The model was from Maelstrom games and I can’t be bothered checking whether it’s still available from Mierce Miniatures as I will never buy anything from them or recommend anybody to do so. The model is excellent though, superbly detailed and absolutely massive. I should have taken a picture with a regular model to compare. The only bad thing about the kit was the resin base which was awful. It was just a plain bent thin flat piece of resin which needed work to be presentable (any black plastic base from GW would be better). Really do not see the point of putting this in the box. Anyway, hope you like it, I loved painting it.

Ca devait remonter à la fin des années 80 la dernière fois ou j’ai du peindre des Skavens. A l’époque je collectionnais tout et rien, essentiellement du Warhammer mais surtout les figurines qui me tapaient dans l’œil. C’est un peu différent aujourd’hui, les jeux de plateaux étant mon hobby préféré.

Ce fut un plaisir de peindre cette figurine de chez Maelstrom Games. Je ne sais pas si elle est toujours disponible chez Mierce Minaiture car je m’en fous, je n’achèterais jamais leur figurines. La figurine est vraiment excellente, superbement détaillé et énorme. J’aurais du prendre une photo avec une pièce en 28mm pour comparer. Le seul problème avec ce kit fur le socle en résine MERDIQUE. N’importe quel socle en plastic de chez GW aurait été une meilleure option. Je ne vois pas l’intérêt de mettre une pièce de résine tordu qu’il faut retravailler.

Dungeon Twister 2: Prison

This is a board game I’ve had over a year and was waiting to paint it before trying it. The game contains 16 models (8 per player). Here the BBG link if you’re interested. I’ve to say I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the models.  You get 8 individual designs which are quite varied and every single one is a pretty good character in its own genre. The Naga and mages are particularly excellent. Also, it’s worth mentioning how good the quality of casting is. It’s not quite up there with GW stuff (Space Hulk) but it’s definitely better than FFG plastic or Zombicide.

Anyway, it was a case of speed painting as I don’t have too much time to spend on my own games. I went for a blue against red. I’m slowly finding a style of painting board game stuff without losing too much time and having decent results.

Dungeon Twister, un de ces jeux qui me tardait d’attaquer car je ne joue jamais avec des figurines non-peintes. Le jeu contient 16 figurines (8 par joueur). Je vous mets le lien sur BGG si ca intéresse quelqu’un. Je dois dire que j’ai été très impressionné avec la qualité des figurines. Il y a 8 personnages uniques dans des genres très variés. Le naga et les magiciens sont particulièrement excellent. Aussi,  un petite note sur les tirages de très bonne qualité, ce n’est pas au niveau de GW mais c’est bien mieux que du FFG ou du Zombicide.

J’ai peint le tout en mode rapidos car je n’ai pas trop de temps à passer sur mes jeux. Petit à petit, j’essaie de trouver un style de peinture rapide qui donne des résultats satisfaisant pour du jeu.
