Lady Fountain

This is the newest version of this fountain I did a while ago. I sold the previous version and decided to do a new one to practice a few things. I sculpted the base and the lady is coming from a chess set.
What I wanted to re-work was painting verdigris, making flowers (saw an interesting tut on a blog, sorry can’t remember which one), a new recipe for stones (seen on Bennos forum) and water effect (making sure I still suck at it).
Overall, pretty happy with the verdigris and the stone colour (although the picture is crap they look better in the flesh), the flowers worked well (the sorts of tulips) and I still suck at water effects. I’ve been using Woodlands realistic water and it’s crap.I know “the bad worker always blames its tools” but really it sucks, énormément! I know a few good tuts for making nice ones; I need to look into it.

  2. I like that cloudy, stagnant effect. Your skill must have salvaged it!

  3. The cloudy effect is because it's not dried yet. Unfortunatly, it will disappear and go all transparent while shrinking, then look really crap.

  5. Excellent sculpt and painting! I can easily imagine the fountain in the middle of a medieval city! :)
