The sorcerers

A bit more of “Super Dungeon Explore” love. I just started to tackle the bad guys. I decided to keep it simple and will probably keep that scheme. I’m not too sure what kind of creatures they’re supposed to be, a cross between a goblin, kobold or a crocodile.

There were so many mould lines on these particular 2 models that I gave up on them and let a few go. It’s a bit of a big task to face when I’ll have to do all the basic units as it’s probably going to be the same mould lines.

Next, one of the good girls…

The tower of Signa-Dûr

Finished…and entenred for the Wamped II contest! I was looking back at the WIP posts; the first one was on the 25 of September 11. It took bloody ages. It’s a commission I was doing for a friend and he was ok that I take my time with it.
The pictures aren’t great but they do show every angle of the building. I hope my friend will be happy with it, just need to work out how the hell I’m going to send this to France in one piece now!

Ce fut long^^ !

Hearthsworn Fighter

Another piece done for the Super Dungeon Explore game. This one is a dwarf hero and one of the good guys. I’ve sort of kept the colours from the art work. It was a pretty quick job as I’m trying to get them done before 2015.
Not much to add, it’s a figure I really like and enjoyed painting.
We’ll see how he fares on the board.

New Plinth

I just added a new plinth for sale. It’s pretty large with a diameter of 95mm to display dioramas or large historical figures. I’ve got a few more of these to come up pretty soon. It’s all in the EBay section if you’re interested as I don’t have a website completely set up yet.

Dimensions: 95mm at the top, diameter at the base is 110mm, height: 18mm and weighs about 200grams. Cast in light grey resin.

EBay Link

Temple Floor Base 60 x 100mm

I needed a base 60 x 100mm for the Drazhoath creature so I thought I’d make one that can be cast and sold around. The idea came as I couldn’t find what I wanted online. I wanted something quite flat as the miniature that will be displayed is already in a very dynamic pose. The design is pretty simple, ruined temple style with broken parts and random objects. It’s all been done with foamed PVC and putty for the small details.

It’s available on sale through EBay. I guess it can be used for dioramas, chariots or large creature’s sets.

EBAy Link

Starfire, dungeon Boss

Carrying on painting the set from “Super Dungeon Explore”, I just finished Starfire. The plastic miniature was in red and is called Starfire so I went for a Jade green dragon. It was a pretty quick job on a not very detailed miniature. Lots of the dragon body parts were not textured which makes the painting more difficult but I tried to aim at a quick/effective job.
The mini bag comes with a piece of scenery too which I did together. I didn’t manage a very good picture but I’ll do more when the whole project is done.
Next, I’ll do one of the good guys I think, quite fancy the dwarf.

Drazhoath The Ashen WIP

This is the next big piece I’m working on. I’m not even at the WIP stage yet but I thought I would do an “Open the box” post as it might useful to people who are interested in this piece. First of all, it’s big…Well, the Taurus is big. I’ve put a mini in comparison next to the body of the Taurus and it looks like a dwarf. Ok, it’s a dwarf but you get what I mean. The base also is a 60x100 which is the biggest base I’ve got or ever got.
I was quite worried about the quality of casting as I’ve just finished some Citadel Finecast but I can’t really complain on this one except for the chaos dwarf which is not the best cast you’ll ever see. His beard is a bit messed up by bubbles of resin and he’s got a massive one on one of his eye which is going to do some damages when I remove it I’m sure. Some of the metal bits for the Taurus as well are bent which is a bit of a pain but easily fixed.
You can see all the bits on the two pictures and I’ve included a picture from Forgeworld website to show what the whole piece is. Next, I’m going to clean all of that and start work on a base.

Deeproot Druid and Angry Bear

I’ve officially started to paint the miniatures from the Super Dungeon Explore game. It’s the first miniatures in ages that I’m painting for myself. The progress will be slow as I’m doing this as an extra as I’ve other more “important” projects going on. These are my 2 favourite’s mini from the set.

I could have spent more time on them but they’ll look fine on the board. I’m looking forward to the group shot I’ve to say. Next is one of the dragons I think…

On the bench…

I thought I’d update quickly about what I’m currently painting. I’m painting the tower from the previous post for the contest on Wamp but I’ve also been working on a couple of other things. I finished a commission, somebody who wanted a painted “Fenland Well”. It does look a lot like the previous one on the add but the tints are actually a bit darker, especially on the rocks. I think it works well with the wet effect and gives it a good “old damp” feel, not sure I’m making any sense here^^. Anyway, if anybody is interested I’m charging £30.00 for the painted version + shipping costs.

I’ve also been working on my current favourite minis. They are from Soda Pop Miniatures, specifically from the Super Dungeon Explore Board game. I’m hoping to have a couple finished before the week end so that’ll be the next update.
