Zompkin!

With Halloween just gone, there were lots of people showing up pictures of crazy pumpkin carvings. I think this one top the list though. I really like food and sculpting themes, I find the whole ephemeral and futility of it interesting.
Anyway, Ray Villafane found the world largest pumpkin and decided to sculpt zombies. More pictures there: Inhabitat.


Quelques jours après Halloween et l’internet pullule toujours de photos de citrouilles sculptées dans tous les styles mais je crois que celle la est dans le haut du panier. J’aime beaucoup le mélange artistique de la nourriture et de la sculpture, ce coté éphémère et complètement inutile.
Bref, Ray Villafane a sculpté des zombies dans la plus grosse citrouille du monde. Voir le lien plus haut pour plus de photos.

Gold Rush Saloon Preview + Francois Lacroix

Something I’ve been working on for a while now and which should be the second kit release after the Fenland well. Something different from my favourite medieval/fantasy theme: an Old West saloon to suit 25-30mm gaming which could be used for Malifaux as well.

So far it’s only been assembled and still needs a bit of tweaking. I’m hoping to start painting it soon but for the available date I’m not too sure as I’m probably moving house soon which means that the Dr. Willett’s Workshop activity will be down for a week or so. I will probably release it after the move, we’ll see…
I’ve also painted Francois Lacroix from Wyrd Miniatures as I wanted an old west type mini to display with the saloon. Lovely gobelin from the bayou with a French name, can’t beat that…I might do his eyes a bit bigger as they don’t pop out at all on the pictures.

Anyway, next update on this will be about the released product.



Un projet sur lequel je travaille depuis quelques semaines et qui sera mon deuxième kit. Quelque chose d’un peu différent de la fantaisy/medieval que j’affectionne particulièrement : un saloon western à l’échelle 25/30mm qui pourrait être utilisé aussi pour Malifaux.

Pour l’instant je n’ai fait que l’assembler et il reste un peu de bricolage à faire dessus. J’espère commencer la peinture bientôt, quand à la date de sortie je ne sais pas trop. Je dois déménager d’ici peu donc ca risque de poser problème et il est possible que j’attende d’être installé dans la nouvelle maison, on verra…
J’ai aussi peint Francois Lacroix de chez Wyrd Miniatures car j’avais besoin d’une figurine style western pour aller avec le saloon. Superbe gobelin du bayou avec un nom français, comment résister ? Je vais peut être refaire ses yeux qui ne ressortent pas assez sur les photos.

La prochaine mise a jour sur ce projet sera sur la sortie et disponibilité du modèle.

The tower of Signa-Dûr WIP (2)

I managed to make some good progress on this one today. It doesn’t look like much more from the last update but at least the whole structure is up. It’s not glued or assembled yet as it makes it easier to paint the inside. I still need to detail the whole outside of the building with bits like skulls, gargoyles and general decoration on the angles. There is still another big job with the top of the tower as I’m trying to sculpt some big horns, inspired a bit from the tower of Sauron.



J’ai réussi à avancer un peu sur cette commande aujourd’hui. Les progrès depuis le dernier post ne sont pas énormes mais au moins la structure générale est faite. Ce n’est pas collé ni assemblé pour l’instant car c’est plus facile pour peindre si c’est en plusieurs parties. Il me reste tous les détails sur l’extérieur à faire, ajouter des cranes, gargouilles etc.… Une autre partie important de la tour reste encore à faire, à savoir les grosses cornes qui iront sur le haut de la tour, un peu inspiré de la tour de Sauron.

Finished! That was a pleasure to paint although a hell of a lot of work to put together. You got to love these sets, so many options and different ways to assemble it. I didn’t manage to get really good pictures as my set up is better suited for smaller minis. They do occupy a lot of space for only 5 guys!

Fini ! C’était un vrai plaisir que de peindre cette unité quoique qu’un sacré morceau de travail à assembler. Ces kits GW sont incroyables, tellement de possibilités. Je n’ai pas réussi à prendre de bonnes photos car je n’ai pas trop l’habitude de photographier des unités aussi larges. Ils sont que 5 mais ils occupent le terrain ! Si vous voulez me mettre un 10, y’a le lien plus haut pour CMON.

Mournfang Cavalry

It’s about time for an update really, over 3 weeks since my last post. I’ve been working on a couple of commissions and on my next release which explains the lack of update as I don’t like to show too many unfinished things. Anyway, this is what’s on the painting table at the moment. It’s a fantastic kit and can only recommend it, figures are greats, lots of options and bits. They’re painted in the same colours as my previous Stonehorn which make things quicker as I don’t have to think too much about the palette. I’ll finish them soon and will update next on my future release which will be a saloon.


Plus de 3 semaines depuis mon dernier message, non je n’ai pas disparu, j’étais juste réticent à montrer les quelques commandes sur lesquelles je travaille. Je suis donc en train de peindre cette cavalerie, vraiment superbe comme kit, beaucoup de combinaisons possibles. Je les ai peint de la même couleur que le « Stonehorn » du mois dernier ce qui est bien car cela m’évite d’avoir à trop réfléchir pour une nouvelle palette. Je pense les finir bientôt et poster après cela sur ma prochaine sortie qui sera un saloon western.

The Fenland Well

The Fenland Well kit is finally available for purchase from the Blog or Ebay. The pictures speak for themselves really. It is 14cm high with a base diameter of 10cm; you can have a look at the picture with the miniature from Hasslefree to get a better idea of the scale. The kit weigh 160g and is cast in light grey resin, you can also see what you’re getting on the last picture. A bit of assembling is required but nothing complicated really!

It’s suitable for your 25-30mm gaming and could fit in different genre such as medieval, fantasy or oriental. It’s supplied unpainted although a painted version as you can see on the picture is available on order (contact me if interested ).

The tower of Signa-Dûr WIP

I started working on a commission and the client does not mind me showing WIP shots so here they are. I had pretty much of a carte blanche for a necromancer tower building “playable” for Mordheim, that is with an inside building. I’ve just started with the inside of the base. It’s all a mix of PVC/Styrofoam and some pieces I had hanging around. I just applied a few colors to test but I think I’m going to go with a deep emerald/rich purple and dark grey pattern all over.

Once this part is finished I will start on the tower itself as for once I’ve a pretty clear idea of where this is going.



Je viens juste de commencer à bosser sur une commande et le client en question voulait voir des photos du WIP et n’avait pas de problème à les voir sur le blog donc les voila. J’avais en gros carte blanche pour faire une tour de Nécromancien « jouable » (avec un décors intérieur) pour Mordheim. Pour l’instant je n’ai travaillé que sur la base du bâtiment : pvc/polystyrène et quelques éléments de décors. J’ai juste appliqué quelques couleurs pour voir un peu mais j’ai décidé d’utiliser une combinaison de vert émeraude foncé, pourpre rouge et un gris/noir à peu prés partout.

Une fois cette partie finie, je vais attaquer la tour en question.
